General Data Protection Regulation update

General Data Protection Regulation update

GDPR – Updating our policies and how it affects your H&S Documentation

As most people will be aware by now, the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect from 25th May.  GDPR will replace the Data Protection Act 1998, and is intended to give people more control over how organisations use their data.

This update is to let you know what we are doing in light of GDPR and also how GDPR affects your H&S documentation.

What we are doing.

At 1st Option Safety Group we take privacy and data protection very seriously and we have always taken great care with how we use your information.  Ahead of the new Regulations we have updated our Data Protection policy on handling and protecting relevant information which is now available on our website

How it affects your H&S documents.

We have produced some guidance on how GDPR affects your risk assessments and other H&S documentation, how long they should be kept for, and the reasons why.   We’ve put together a detailed FAQ which we hope will answer any queries you may have.

You can find the FAQ here
